My hope is that everyone will read this before contacting us about a horse. It would save alot of frustration on everyones part. I'm sure most of this goes for other rescues as well.
1. Sometimes our adoption fees are neg. but do NOT email me and right away ask how much I'll drop off. I will not discuss that until you meet the horse and I can talk to you in person.
2. READ THE HORSE DESCRIPTION, then read it again! I cannot stand when I say in the description that a horse is spooky and still needs work and I get an email or call from someone asking how he does on trails or if he'd be ok for a beginner.
3. Do NOT come here and get an attitude thinking you know EVERYTHING about horses (nobody does!).
4. Do NOT think we HAVE to adopt a horse to you just because you have a nice home for it and experience, etc. We will always go with our gut.
5. Please do not put any health problems you may have in your very first email to me. There are people who lie about it just to try to get a horse cheaper so I want to get to know you first.
6. Please I know you probably mean well but the following statements give me a bad feeling about you right away..... It would have the best home ever!.... You'd never have to worry about him!...... (There's more but I'm drawing a blank)
7. If a horse has a problem, lets say navicular, and you have NO knowledge of it AT ALL, please at the minimum google it and contact your vet and farrier to ask about it.
8. Do NOT get an attitude when you read our contract. It is what it is and it's staying that way, so if you don't want to sign it then please don't.
9. Do NOT call and say how you want to get the horse to train and sell. Didn't you read the part about ADOPTION?!
10. If you want a cheap horse to flip go to an auction and get one but don't go to a rescue.
11. PLEASE help support rescues (either 501(c)3 or not) because none of us can do it without your donations/gifts.
